It was a solemn occasion on Sunday (11 November) as Cayman marked Remembrance Day in George Town.
H.E. Governor Martyn Roper and Premier Hon. Alden McLaughlin were among those who laid wreaths in memory of those who gave their lives in war.
This year’s event also marked the centenary of the Armistice, which brought World War I to an end on 11 November 1918 after four years of fighting.
That war resulted in an estimated 37.5 million casualties, with approximately 8.5 million troops thought to have lost their lives.
